Corrella
Bio
Quickly making a name with their sun-soaked reggae-inspired sound, Corrella have become one of Aotearoa New Zealand's most exciting breakout acts. Their sleeper-hit single 'Blue Eyed Māori' announced their arrival, with the band continuing to cement themselves as one of the country's premier live acts.
Named after the naval base where the band first met, Corrella released their debut album Road From 26 in 2023. A modern roots-reggae record infused with funk, soul and pop-rock influences, the album showcased the band's signature feel-good sound while telling the story of their journey from past to present.
The standout single 'Blue Eyed Māori' became one of New Zealand's biggest songs of the decade, finishing as one of the country's most-played radio tracks and most-streamed songs of 2023. It has since spent more than 50 weeks at No. 1 on the Official NZ Top 20 Singles Chart, setting the all-time record for the most weeks at the top.
In November 2024, Corrella released their acclaimed sophomore album Skeletons, described as "packed with roots-reggae anthems primed for summer festival season." The record was named one of Rolling Stone's 50 Best New Zealand Albums of 2024 and was followed by performances at Rhythm & Vines and Homegrown, along with sold-out tours across Australia and New Zealand supporting L.A.B. The album's standout single 'How Will I Know' became one of New Zealand's most-played radio songs and one of the country's ten most-streamed tracks in 2025.
Since then, Corrella have continued to build an unstoppable live reputation, touring extensively throughout New Zealand and Australia, performing at the country's biggest festivals, and sharing stages with artists including UB40 and L.A.B.
The band have now released two singles — 'Under The Covers' and 'Not I' — from their forthcoming third studio album, due for release in Q1 2027. The new music marks another evolution of their South Pacific-inspired reggae sound while retaining the infectious hooks and uplifting energy that have become their trademark.
With extensive headline touring planned throughout Australia and New Zealand across Q4 2026 and Q1 2027, Corrella continue to expand their audience while preparing for their biggest international chapter yet.
Driven by rhythm guitarist and hype man Te Naawe Tupe (Ngāi Tūhoe) alongside vocalists Pipiwharauroa and Ngawaiwera Campbell (Ngāi Te Rangi, Ngāti He, Ngāti Pūkenga), Corrella are one of the fastest-rising acts to emerge from Aotearoa, bringing their unmistakable blend of roots, reggae, soul and Pacific flavour to audiences around the world.
