Dude of Life Band

Bio

Dude of Life Band and their catalog of psychedelic cult classics combined with killer new originals deliver a nonstop party for any audience. Steve Pollak, aka Dude of Life, has been writing songs with Phish’s Trey Anastasio since their high school days at the Taft School in Watertown, CT. Anastasio has often credited Dude of Life as being "the crowd before there was a crowd!" The Dude has co-written some of Phish's most beloved songs, including "Fluffhead," "Run Like An Antelope," "Suzy Greenberg," "Sanity," "Slave To The Traffic Light," and "Dinner And A Movie."

The Dude Of Life’s 1994 debut LP, Crimes of the Mind (Elektra Records), remains the only album by any artist that features Phish as the backing band. More recently, the Dude has explored a more refined classic rock sound while working on an album's worth of new material with legendary producer Bryce Goggin. Dude of Life Band features Pollak on rhythm guitar and vocals, Charlie De Saint Phalle on bass, Fred Scholl on lead guitar, Parker Reilly on keys and the newest member of the band, Chuck Black, aka "Friar Chuck" on drums.
