Meduso
Bio
Dive into the enthralling world of Meduso, the boundary-pushing producer, DJ, and multidisciplinary designer from Boston, Massachusetts, now based in Portland, Oregon.
Known for his electrifying fusion of contemporary bass music with the gritty intensity of progressive rock and nu-metal, Meduso draws inspiration from pioneering electronic artists such as G Jones, Jantsen, and Rusko, alongside crossover rock acts like Linkin Park, Deftones, and Korn. Layered with the innovative spirit of hip-hop sampling, these influences have helped shape a sound that is distinctly his own. His unique approach has earned him opportunities to perform alongside ILLENIUM, Mersiv, Smoakland, Tape B, Ravenscoon, Levity, Of The Trees, and more, further cementing his presence within the electronic music landscape.
Since his 2020 debut album, Yugen, Meduso has distinguished himself by pairing immersive music with self-curated visual worlds, beginning with a groundbreaking 360-degree VR audiovisual experience. His artistic evolution has continued through ambitious projects such as The Ascension into Madness and The Eclipse Portal Odyssey, a 90-minute, self-produced audiovisual journey released in 2025.
His career has taken him to prestigious venues including Hampton Coliseum, Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, Mission Ballroom, and Meow Wolf Denver, alongside festival appearances at Okeechobee, Imagine, Northern Nights, Sound Haven, WAKAAN, FriendShip, Sacred Acre Alaska, Of The Trees’ Camp Alderwild, and WAKAAN Music Festival.
In summer 2023, Meduso transitioned away from adidas to fully immerse himself in music and establish his creative design agency, Perplex Studios. With a background in industrial and product design—including work at Converse and adidas on projects such as Beyoncé’s IVY PARK collection—Meduso brings a rare combination of musical production, visual storytelling, and physical design expertise to his artistic practice. The move marked a deeper commitment to merging his design background with his musical vision, allowing both disciplines to inform one another.
That multidisciplinary approach has evolved into LIQUID METAL, Meduso’s latest creative chapter and an expanding sonic and visual universe that brings together his musical influences, design background, and immersive production into a singular artistic identity. Introduced in summer 2026 through a 50-minute audiovisual showcase composed entirely of unreleased original music, remixes, and flips, LIQUID METAL merges the intensity of heavy bass with the raw emotion of alternative rock and metal. Meduso personally designed and fabricated the metallic, chrome-inspired structures featured in the performance, further demonstrating his commitment to creative ownership across every element of the project.
The 2026 release of “Rosemary” ft. Zoso, a complete reimagining of the Deftones classic featuring newly recorded vocals and entirely rebuilt production, further established the direction of this new era.
Meduso’s innovative integration of metal elements into dance music—layered with hip-hop influence—has captured the attention of outlets including SPIN, LA Weekly, MusicTech, and ThisSongIsSick, establishing him as a distinctive voice within this evolving crossover space. His work invites listeners into a world where heavy bass, metal, progressive rock, hip-hop, visual art, and physical design converge, showcasing an artist whose creative identity extends far beyond the boundaries of traditional electronic music.
