Particle Kid and Daniel Lanois will release their first full-length collaboration, The Ocean Floor, on February 26, 2027 through Loosegroove Records. The project of Micah Nelson, Particle Kid also teamed with Lanois to share the album’s lead single, “Even The Birds,” and announce a run of February and March performances.
The 11-song collection took shape over 10 days at Lanois’ Bella Vista home studio in Los Angeles’ Silver Lake neighborhood. Nelson and Lanois expanded their existing recordings with live band performances, bringing together guitars, piano, pedal steel and Mellotron with synthesizers and layered vocals.
Joining the pair were Particle Kid bassist Aroyn Day, percussionist Kyle Crane and bassist Daryl Johnson. Engineer Gerardo Ordonez and Lanois’ longtime collaborator and co-producer Wayne Lorenz also worked on the recordings.
